Vic’s Meat Market – casual BBQ restaurant

One would usually associate Sydney Fish Markets with seafood. One needs to know that this is not necessarily the case. Vic’s meats have also set up a BBQ restaurant in this location. Although it is removed from all of the fish mongers, it is set up in its own space on the left as you enter the carpark. There was ample parking available and much to our suprise, it was free.

The equipment used to cook in this place is impressive massive smoker used put out large quantities of slow smoked meats.

This is also a licensed venue so you can enjoy some beverages whilst savouring some BBQ meats.

We had heard many good things about the cheese burgers, unfortunately they were too popular on the day and they had sold out as had the beef ribs.

However, we did sample the pulled pork burger, served with the house slaw, a quality option that disappeared pretty quickly. The brisket burger was also ordered and was tasty. The brisket also being pulled threw us a little. The pulled pork and beef brisket looked very similar making it easy to mix up.

Being low and slow BBQ we had to go with the pork ribs which came off the bone easily and had a flavoursome rub. Accompanying this was pickles and slaw.

We also shared a few sides that impressed us the most. The burnt ends with beans and truffle taters. Could have snacked on these all night with some beers.

A quality BBQ joint close to the city, easy to get to and plenty of parking. Staff were friendly. The joint could do with a bit more atmosphere, but good for a BBQ feed.
