Relax and unwind by the sea @ Terrigal Crowne Plaza

Terrigal is one of those beachside locations we’d be happy to return to time and time again. We love the beach, the fish and chip stores, the friendly locals and being able to stay in some great accommodation to make the most of the stay.

We love the reliable and comfortable Crowne Plaza Terrigal. Absolute beach front with sweeping views of the beach, it’s the perfect place for a little getaway. The property is expansive, with 199 rooms, leisure facilities including a pool, table tennis, gym and Endota Day Spa. There’s also three ocean front restaurants and bars so you don’t even need to leave the property if you don’t want to.

If you’re up in the area for work, there’s meeting rooms and conference spaces too.

The local area has boutique shopping, coffee shops, fish and chips, and plenty of places to explore. A stroll along the beach is a great start to the day.

We stayed in an ocean front King room, with a balcony. The room was spacious, complete with a lounge, ottoman, workspace, mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. A huge bathroom, with plenty of products, hairdryer, bathrobes and even scented pillow spray.

Free wi-fi is throughout the property and parking can be utilised underground for $25 per day.

The hotel had a good mix of customers from groups of friends, to couples, singles and families with children.

Where to eat in the Crowne Plaza

Seasalt restaurant – dinner

Seasalt restaurant, located within the Crowne Plaza is great because you don’t even have to step foot outside the hotel. With ocean views, it has a stunning outlook and is set up for a sophisticated dining experience.

Executive chef Simon Quick has curated a great array of ala carte menu options that change seasonally and the meals are presented beautifully and are of high quality. We also want to highlight that Sous chef Dana Chantler won chef of the year at last years HM awards. We are not surprised, since the food here is excellent.

For our entree, we selected the refreshing snapper ceviche with lime, coconut, cucumber marinade, chilli and basil as well as Oysters three ways; kefir lime jelly, natural and classic French mignonette.

For our mains we opted for the Grilled market fish (Ling on our visit), perfectly cooked as was the seared scallops it was served with, this dish also came with fennel, peas, green beans, pesto butter sauce (GF).

The Pinnacle beef tenderloin was thoroughly enjoyed, cooked as ordered, medium rare, and accompanied by some crisp kipfler potatoes, herb and garlic butter and a drizzle of beautiful red wine jus (GF)

Both of us had a glass of wine, a white and red to accompany the fish and meat, but you’re able to order a beer or cocktail if you so please.

Seasalt restaurant – Buffet

Seasalt is also the spot which hosts the Crowne Plaza’s buffet breakfast, offering continental and hot options. A bread station with a range of pastries, breads and muffins as well as a cereal stand. Plenty of Gluten free options too.

There’s cold meats, cheeses, fruits, yoghurts and you can grab a freshly squeezed juice.

If you prefer a hot meal, there’s all your typical buffet favourites and a chef preparing made to order eggs.

We love that they have a coffee station, where staff make you a proper cappuccino or latte!

The staff were very efficient, filling everything as it became depleted and promptly taking away empty plates. We really enjoyed our brekkie here.

Florida beach bar

If you prefer a bit more of a laid back vibe or simply a drink and a few bites to eat, perhaps try the beach bar. They have a grill menu, burgers, salads, pizza and cocktails. This has street/beach access and you can even bring your dog here! The beach bar has a cool vibe with live entertainment on Friday from 5:30pm, sat 1-5pm and Sunday 1-6pm using local central coast talent which we think is great!

Lord Ashley

This is a lounge bar located inside the hotel, a perfect place for that pre-dinner cocktail, spirit or craft beer and a catch up with friends.

Come up to Terrigal, on the Central coast and enjoy your little slice of paradise to relax and unwind away from hustle and bustle of the city. In less than 2 hours from Sydney, it’s the perfect seaside weekend getaway.

Thank you to everyone involved at the Crowne Plaza and Visit Central Coast for organising our visit.
