Self Raised @ Carlton

Self raised bread shoppe is a bakery selling New York style stacked sandwiches, egg and cheese milk buns in the morning and Foccacia as well as some pastries like almond croissants, and cakes such as the moist and decadent chocolate cake.

We had the Hoagie, a ciabatta loaf filled with layers of mortadella, salami, smoked beef, salad, cheddar and provolone. This fully stacked sandwich is seasoned with a delicious sauce and you can also add chili. One of the best sandwiches going around – so good since they’re made fresh to order on freshly baked bread. Next time we want the Schnitzel (herb and garlic panko-crumbed chicken, lettuce, American cheese and mayo) on white bread. It looked amazing.

You can also get coffee, made using Reformatory Lab coffee. It’s more of a takeaway venue, not dine in, though there are a few stools out front.

Checkerboard decor with terracotta and yellow hues, it’s got a cool vibe to it. Get in early though, there’s lines every day. We know why, it’s amazing!
