Covid19 – fine dining restaurants reopen

We’ve been holed up at home learning to bake foccacia and banana bread or calling in some takeaway when we’ve had enough kneading balls of flour and yeast. Add in baskets of washing and home schooling and we are really just craving a fancy night out. We could list here plenty of places to visit now that 10 people can dine in for brunch or a coffee, but we’ve decided to provide a list of fine dining options in case  you and that special someone really just need a sophisticated night out.

Catalina

The stunning Rose Bay restaurant, Catalina has reopened 7 days for lunch and dinner! They are hosting 2 hour sittings at 12:00 or 2:30 pm for the lunch siting and 6pm or 8:30pm. To meet regulations, the restaurant can only seat 10 people per sitting, be sure to phone (02) 9371 0555 or email reservations@catalinarosebay.com.au to book.

Catalina is also still offering takeaway food and drinks for pick up or home delivery.

Pilu Freshwater

Pilu Freshwater is also a waterfront location and they are making the most of the difficult situation by reopening for 10 guests in a special ‘Pilu Esclusivo’ arrangement. It is a pop up  style where they are opening for 10 guests at a set priced menu at Friday and Saturday dinner, as well as Sunday lunch for the duration of Stage 1 restrictions. The special opening will be a seven course degustation created by chef Giovanni Pilu and Federico Porceddu at a cost of $250 pp. All tables will have guaranteed ocean views.

Loluk Bistro 

Located in Surry Hills, Loluk is a French restaurant which is reopening for 10 customers with a $69 set menu with your choice of an entree, main and dessert. Entrees see dishes such as pan fried scallops, cheese souffle or snails and the main offerings include lamb shoulder, duck breast and barramundi to name a few. For dessert, there’s some French favourites lile profiteroles, creme brulee and macarons.

Aqua Dining

Aqua dining has reopened for ala carte dining. Open 7 days for lunch and dinner, they will be operating according to NSW restrictions of 10 diners, so be sure to book. 2 courses  are $85, 3 for $105 or 4 for $119, select a preferred option to suit your dining party. There is also a 6 course degustation on offer for $140 (at the 8:30pm dining session only). Home dining will still remain available. Note. BYO is not available.

Franca

Franca, a French Brasserie in Potts point is offering a chefs table, private experience for up to ten people. You will have a sommelier, bartender, restaurant and chef exclusively for you. Also open for takeaway and delivery

Manta

Manta is a steak and seafood restaurant on Wooloomooloo wharf, now offering lunch bookings for groups of ten. The special offer is for a three hour package at a cost of $125 for a three course menu.

Peppe’s 

Peppes restaurant, located in the eastern suburbs is a plant based Italian eatery with a a $65 set menu including a glass of wine. There are conforming to regulations and seating diners at two sittings (5:30 or 7pm) from Wednesday – Sunday

Nel 

A brilliant restaurant with amazing food and service will be reopening for service from June 1 with a special menu to take you on a trip down memory lane. Two dinner sittings will be held to accommodate diners.

Sokyo 

Located in the Star, Sokyo has the finest range of sushi and sashimi as well as meat and veg cooked on the robata grill, brought to us by Chase Kojima. 2 hour sittings at 6 or 8pm, but be sure to ring and book ahead to avoid missing out.
