The Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley is a resort in Lovedale in NSW’s iconic winemaking region, just 2 hours north of Sydney.

The luxury accomodation has excellent facilities, with a large golf course on site, a new and well stocked gymnasium, a tennis court, outdoor pool, kids game room and huge grounds to walk around. There’s also a Ubika day spa to get a facial or massage, but be sure to book an appointment ahead of time.

With resort villas, rooms and suites, we’re booked into a room in the main building. The room is quite spacious with a large bed and comfy pillows. The room has a tv (a few pay channels), desk, fridge, and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom has toiletries provided and a bath/shower combination. Our room had a balcony looking out on the pool villas.

The property has two restaurants; one is Redsalt and it has a degustation menu of 2 or 3 course ala carte. We didn’t dine here on our stay. We ate at Lovedale, the bar, but the food was overpriced and not very good quality in our opinion.

Our stay included breakfast which we did think was good. It included tea, coffee, juice and one cold and hot menu option. It was certainly on a large scale and pretty tasty. The staff were nice and food came out in a timely fashion.

Check in was pretty straight forward and staff were friendly, the concierge was also helpful. Staff here are also going above and beyond with regards to cleanliness to meet Covid regulations.

If you’re staying in the area, it’s a suitable venue for couples, families or groups of friends.
