So, it’s Friday night and you want to eat out, yet you can’t decide where to go. If you’re like us, you’ll scroll the internet for hours before finally deciding. The PokitPal app has made it easier for us to decide, narrowing the choice down to a list of bars and restaurants offering us a discount whilst we dine!! That is, cash back for your meal!
For the restuarant itself, the PokitPal brand offers participating venues a way incentivise patrons by offering a cash back when dining/visiting the bar. It’s great for business to see their customers get a discount or cash back by using the app. When choosing where to dine, customers may select the business due to the incentive offered.
As a customer, all you need to do is download the free app, upload your mastercard details to your app. You can then search through the app, and choose where to drink and eat. The cash-back percentage varies from venue to venue and is usually around 5-15%. Once you’ve dined and paid, you will notice that percentage has been refunded to your card. It’s an awesome idea tome.
We’ve now dined at three venues via the app, each offering 15% cash back. After we paid using our mastercard, we were later refunded that percentage to our credit card. It was refunded almost intstantaneoulsy. So, it’s a win win situation!

Mordeo
Mordeo. It could be described as a hidden gem, being holed in between some city high rise work buildings off Philip St in the Sydney CBD. However their name is obviously out there and known in the city community, as it was pumping with crowds enjoying a few after work drinks and what looked like an incredible Espresso Martini. They also brew their own beer.

Peppercorn at Civic
Peppercorn restaurant is situated upstairs of the suave Civic hotel, close to World Square and Thai Town. We visited on a Friday night, the restaurant had a great atmosphere and was a hive of activity, with many groups enjoying a meal. The restaurant is described as Thai, however having recently visited Laos, we noted many of the dishes having Laotian influence, which is not too dissimilar given the Geographic location.

Lil Darlin
Lil Darlin, in Randwick, Darlinghurst and Surry hills is great for a few drinks for a party, hens or just a quiet catch up with friends. They have a great cockail menu and also host cocktail masterclasses. They also have a great bar menu: from entree style bites to pizzas, pastas and schnitzel to name a few.
