We’re huge fans of fresh and healthy food and anything with an environmental philosophy impresses us even more.
The philosophy of Grow, Harvest, Serve is propounded by the DAILY GREENS restaurant in Paddington, since it focuses on using fresh food with zero waste and traceable ingredients.
Daily Greens has been brought to Paddington care of the founder of Finn Poke, Jem Jacinto and we are glad for this for it is a stunning space with great food. The menu has been curated by Executive Chef and Charles Olali, who comes with great experience from around LA. There’s a great range of breakfast options; whether it be tartines with eggs, house made beet hummus, grilled halloumi or avo on toast or even green bowl. This will ensure you start your day right.
Throughout the day, there’s salads and soups, as well as the ‘build your own bowl’ option. The build your own bowl is perfect for the picky diners amongst us. Pick a base, add some fillings, too it with something crunchy and dress it with some flavour. Whilst you’re at it, add some protein for a super satisfying meal. Otherwise pick a ready designed warm or cold bowl. These are available until 7pm.
We selected two warm bowls; the “Miso Salmon” and “Moroccan Chicken”. The Miso Salmon was a large bowl filled with warm organic black and brown rice, wild rocket, sesame green beans, red onion, cucumber, shredded cabbage, topped with a piece of baked ASC Atlantic Salmon and dressed with a Miso caramel sauce. It was healthy and super lovey flavours.
The Moroccan Chicken bowl is filled with warm quinoa, shredded kale, spiced crispy chickpeas, mint, house made beet hummus, balsamic vinaigrette and topped with roasted Dutch carrots and roasted free range chicken. Another fresh and satisfying lunch bowl.
Perfect for those with dietary requirements, for you can find plenty of options that suit gluten free and vegan diners.
On the drinks list you’ll find kombucha, fresh juices, teas and coffees. They have a few specialty hot drinks like turmeric, chai, matcha and beetroot lattes. There’s even a few beers in the menu.
Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax. The Daily Greens is a hidden little gem that you will find to be calm and serene and we love the prominent tree featuring in the courtyard. We’d even recommend popping in with a book to for a leisurely time out to chill. Interior architect Han Lim has certainly done a great job for it’s not only stunning, but has a calming colour palette and feels like a an inner urban oasis.
Head in for a healthy and tasty lunch at reasonable prices, for everything is less that $18.
