Athletes are careful about rehydrating their bodies after exercise. The drinkers amongst us know the first thing after a night out is to rehydrate and we leap forward for some water and electrolytes. But do you do the same thing for your skin?
Whilst we’re in lockdown, it’s the perfect time to get into self-care and look after our beauty regime.
Our face is prone to drying out, as a result of environmental factors such as age, UV trauma and also artificial factors like heaters and the a/c. This leaves our skin cells being less efficient and leads to us looking, dehydrated, aged and tired.
Electrolytes essentially act as liquid fuel for the skin and can help by dissolving in the body’s fluids and creating small electrical charges to help clear water pathways in the skin.
Australian skin care company Enbacci have just released some new sheet masks which use electrolytes utilising fruit stem cells derived from different fruits. These extracts bring moisture back into our skin and leave us looking more refreshed to reduce the signs of ageing.
Fuelled by potassium, each mask is designed to reverse skin damage by restoring normal cell function and hydration.
They extract cells from the callus of the grape making the Vitis Vinifera Rejuvenating Mask ($20 RRP). See their website for more scientific details, but they essentially aim to reverse UV-related damage, reduce redness and inflammation, even skin tone, and strengthen youth-perfecting collagen and elastin structures.
They also sell the Age Revitalising Face Defence Mask ($23 RRP) which is rich in vitamins A, B and C to brighten the skin, reduce puffiness, plump fine lines and treat acne scars, blemishes and dark spots. These aim to leave us looking more youthful! After taking off the mask, your skin feels like it has more elasticity to it and more moisture to it.
These masks are hydration for the skin. They are great to help stabilise healthy moisture levels, calm inflammation and redness for an even toned and balanced complexion, resulting in more fresh and youthful looking skin.
Even better, the are Australian made and are available nationwide online and at Enbacci’s flagship store in Prahran, Melbourne. Each mask is available as a single unit or in a pack of five. They also sell a range of other skincare products. Check out their website for more details.
We like that the company has an environmental focus. They do not test any products on animals. The packaging is also fully recyclable after use, to support the world by lower landfill rates.
Do yourself a favour and check them out!
