Ramsgate Markets are on each Saturday from 8am-2pm and these markets are certainly a feast for the senses – that smell of the roasted coffee bean, sight of the delectable cakes, sound of the donuts frying up and taste of incredibly good food from gozleme to bao, will see you leave with a smile on your face and a full belly that’s for sure.
It’s a farmers market so you can find plenty of produce; fruits and veg, as well as meats, eggs, olives and cheese, breads, coffee and food to consume whilst walking around.
We sampled plenty of food, and especially loved the prawn and chicken bao from Mr Bao, on a soft pillow steam buns.
Gozleme is always a winner and the soft Turkish dough made into a flatbread, filled with spinach was perfect, brought to us by Turkish Deniz.
It was a Saturday, our usual coffee crawl so we had a few here; one from one stop coffee using beans from the Grounds and another coffee from Columbia Connection Coffee; specialty coffee producers using high quality single origin coffee to make coffee rich in flavour, full bodied and fruity without compromising on ethical or sustainable values.
The markets are also perfect to grab bagels from Bondi bagels; seeded, plain, poppyseed or even an everything bagel. We grab a few of these to take home for later and they were just as good then too!
Other items perfect to purchase (which we did) include Olives from gratecheese co and a loaf of our favourite bread from Sonoma; the whole-wheat miche sourdough.
On the side of sweets, we got some good cinnamon donuts from gfreedonutssydney and who ever would have ever thought they were gluten free!
In addition you’ll find the most superb cakes at Sweet Dreams Sydney. The most lovely mini cupcakes which looked like flowers!
Don’t worry because they’re very good with hygiene practices for Covid19 regulations and apply social distancing and hand sanitizer at every spot.
