We always love a good Japanese meal, infact it is our favourite cuisine. Its great to see that Motto Motto offers casual contemporary Japanese dining at super reasonable prices.
Some may describe it as fast food style dining, as the NSW venues are in shopping centres, and you can order at the counter or via their app and have it promptly delivered to your table. Service is not only fast, but extra friendly and they do their absolute best to make you feel welcome.
They use quality ingredients to prepare our favourite signature dishes such as poke bowls, ramen, udon and rice bowls topped with premium grade wagyu beef, sashimi grade salmon and tuna.
We tried two of the bowls; the “Teri Teri chicken” – marinated chicken thigh, Japanese mayonnaise, fresh vegetables (cauliflower and zucchini) and white rice with motto-made teriyaki sauce. It is a generous serving, succulent meat and well flavoured. In addition, the “premium Australian Wagyu beef” (6 to 9 beef marble score) was also excellent. Served with fresh vegetables and white rice with motto-made yakiniku sauce.
We then tried two of their cloud rolls, aptly named, since biting into these milk buns is like walking on a cloud. The tender premium Australian Wagyu beef (6 to 9 beef marble score) is served on one of their buns with lettuce, tomato, red onion and choice of sauce, us opting for their Japanese BBQ sauce.
We were there to try their amazing special, available for a limited time. This is the indulgent, yet inexpensive Moreton Bay Bug roll featuring locally caught Moreton Bay Bug, Yuzu dressing, Australian avocado and black fish roe on a long milk bun roll. It’s like their take on a lobster roll, and so delicious. It’s only $15 which is incredible value.
Plenty of sides too such as edamame, gyoza, fries chicken karage, garden or potato salad and rice. We tried the delicious vegetarian gyoza, karage and their amazing crinkle cut fries with wasabi salt. These are unreal and so moreish, we kept going in for more.
Each dish ranges between $13 – $17 and you can make it a meal, with a drink and side for just $7.90 extra.
Don’t forget to have a soft serve ice cream before you leave – these were pretty darn good.
We also noticed they had really good deals in store, like $5 off your second visit, gyoza and a drink for your birthday you can earn points to redeem freebies via the app.
