Located inside a beautiful cottage on the hill at the top end of Leura, the Bunker cafe and Bar is what we last remembered as a Belgian Beer Restaurant. It’s been a while between Blue Mountains trips for us since we are told the bunker has been around for 2 years. We are intrigued at what this new place has to offer. You can sit in the huge house inside, on the verandah or in the garden and take in the view. Suitable for families too, we had our little fella in the pram.

The menu sees predominantly western food with, small plates, larger plates and sides, including plenty of options for those with dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan and gluten free meals.
We loved the gin cured kingfish which we shared for the entree.

I had one of the larger vegan dishes; the grilled tofu with brown rice, pickled chilli, cabbage, yuzu dressing and lime. Light flavours and not a heavy meal, I thoroughly enjoyed this with my cocktail.

Kurt had the full rack of pork ribs with sticky bbq sauce and fries, again a decent price for the size. Not the best ribs around but did the job.

The drinks here are great, plenty of excellent cocktails, beers and wines. Service is super friendly and efficient.
