Commune Eatery

We tried out Commune Eatery in Erskenville, thanks to a suggestion from our friends @theorigincorner. The neighbourhood cafe is located at the entrance to a residential complex. The space is bright and open and very welcoming. Plenty of space to sit indoors or outdoors and also great to take your puppy, for there is lots even doggie treats.

It has a great values, being community minded, environmentally conscious and focusing on using local ingredients.

They’ve got a good range of sandwiches, toasties, and bagels. We enjoyed the turkey bagel – so fresh with tasty fillings.

There’s a great menu of fresh and healthy dishes and so we also ordered one of their Bibimbaps, with consciously sourced local produce from Block 11 organics, it was bursting with colour and flavour. Including mushrooms, carrot, cabbage, and topped with crispy tofu. The housemade ssamjang and XO sauce made the flavour so so good. A nice kick to it.

I’m keen to go back for more, especially for their porridge, which looks so good. Oh, and the baked goods! They have house made muffins, cookies and more!

The coffee bean is by @drink.palette which we hadn’t tried before. We did quite like it, ordering a latte and a flat white. I also really liked their ceramic cups.

Staff were super kind and welcoming and it made for a great experience all round.
