Whilst in Queensland, we visited Jimmy Wah’s Burleigh for some modern Asian, predominantly Vietnamese cuisine, with a modern Australian influence as recommended by our mate @where_do_i_eat_pete.

It was early and we were lucky to walk in and get a table and they were accomodating with our baby.
We ordered the Shakin’ beef, which was wok tossed beef with a rich sauce made with cherry tomatoes, onion, green beans, peanuts, crispy taro.

Also enjoyed was the grilled eggplant Grilled eggplant with a sweet soy glaze and a super tasty and not too spicy chilli sambal. This is a vegetarian and vegan option too.

The ocean trout tartare was excellent, flavoured with kaffir lime oil, coconut milk, finger lime and served with a grilled rice paper (our baby demolished an extra serve of these rice paper crackers).

The food was banging with flavour and good portions too. So many appealing choices, and also plenty of cocktails!
The venue is modern, and we love the mural adorning the left wall, a cheerful face of Jimmy Wah aka Good Morning, Vietnam. Plenty of customers having a good time and the place is packed.
