Held on Dec 2 at CommBank stadium overlooking the ground, this Open Lunch was a long lunch and culinary extravaganza, highlighting amazing fresh produce from around NSW.
Upon arrival, there was Moet Champagne flowing, and guests excitedly making their way around food stations showcasing food and drink from some of Parramatta’s neighbouring restaurants such as Misc. Parramatta and Butter.
Following this, we were seated at one long table on the Cumberland Lounge terrace of the stadium with a beautiful table arranged with colourful decor and flowers by Azariade, and a menu which carefully curated by Matt himself, showcasing his ‘paddock to plate’ philosophy.
The menu included the following:
⁃ Miche sourdough with Pepe saya butter
⁃ Spencer Gulf kingfish crudo, nashi, radish & lime dressing
The main on offer was a delicious Roasted Margra lamb rump, roasted peppers and a rustic mint salsa
And a roaming dessert selection of watermelon, lemon and vodka popsicles, with raspberry popping candy & chocolate mousse, caramel crunch and white chocolate ice cream pops or burnt honey and passionfruit, coconut pannacotta, cookie crumb and lemon balm.
After dessert, Australian icons Human Nature took to the stage to perform an intimate show of their Motown Greatest Hits.
We can highly recommend this if run again and so grateful to have been in attendance. For $65 a ticket, it is very reasonable for an enjoyable day out.
It is one of the events of NSW Government’s Summer in Sydney event series, via the tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
