Project 2 Waterloo

Project 2 Waterloo is a new Specialty coffee shop in Waterloo. It occupies a small spot off Danks street Waterloo with street frontage for those after a coffee on the run or head on in for a table if you’re keen to sit in or grab a bite to eat.

Brewing your favourite milk based coffees, using one of our favourites; Deluca beans for their coffee. They also have Filter V60 and batch brew and use rotating single origin for the espresso, I tried one from Ethiopia.

Project 2 also make a Cascara, which they allowed us to first try, with a nice sweet tea flavour to it. Brewed for 18 hours, it comes in a glass bottle and cup of ice and orange slices for a super refreshing coffee. This was a coffee that is very enjoyable to sit and drink in warmer weather.

The cold brew is brewed over 20 hours, also served in a glass bottle with a glass of ice and we also thought this was a really good coffee.

Staff are friendly and very busy with lots of customers but Barista Jackie is moving fast. He’s also champion of latte art, so be sure to admire his work! (Top 15 ASCA latte art Australia 2019)

If you’d prefer something else, they also do a chai, matcha latte, hot chocolate and chilled drinks like kombucha, juice and colas as well as specialty tea.

Food wise they have some pastries including matcha croissants at the bench or you can also eat in. They have an all day menu with granola, sesame porridge, eggs benny, bacon and egg roll or their famous floppy hot cakes for brekkie (give those 15 min). Otherwise if you prefer crispy salmon, curry tomato, a fish roe bowl or yakisoba chicken, their menu is certainly Japanese influenced.

A great little specialty coffee store in a good location.
