One of our favourite cheap eats and our favourite Lebanese charcoal chicken joints is located in Rockdale and it’s called Charcoal Kingdom. The shop is across the road from the Rockdale Town Hall on the Princess Highway. This unassuming take away shop produces some of the tastiest food you’ll find. They have a loyal following and it can get busy. There are a number of tables if you wish to dine in, this is recommended as you will get your food super fresh.
Charcoal Kingdom are always experimenting for their weekly specials, be sure to follow them on the gram and be sure to be tempted by images and videos of their food, whether it be a cheeseburger, fajita bowl, hot dogs, or mac and cheese balls.
Our go to is the chicken combo – pick your portion of combo we usually go with a quarter or half depending on how hungry we are, this comes with a choice of chips or salad. The chicken is marinated in Ali’s special sauce and grilled over hot coals. The chips are the goods and are out of this world when combined with the toum (garlic sauce) our favourite salads are the tabouleh and fatouch. The combo also comes with pita bread and some pickles. Pick off some of the best BBQ chicken you will find, the chicken succulent and the marinade is also something special, combine this with pickles and toum in a portion of pita and you’ll be living the food dream.
Although the chicken combos are our pick, they also have plenty of great options to choose from; healthy plates and mixed grill for the gym heads, they also have a good range wraps and rolls as well as burgers for those burger fiends.
Take our word for it, this joint is legit and delivers the goods. Be sure to check it out yourself, you won’t regret it, however we probably will when they get too busy.
