Bootsdarling is a quaint little cafe in Paddington/Darlinghurst with a rustic / vintage inspired look. Situated on the corner of Taylor St and South Dowling St, just before you get to Oxford St. It’s often quite busy, but we were there early on a Sunday morning before the locals awoke and we got a great table outside.
The menu is internationally inspired and a few of the dishes reflective of those we’ve seen in Asia like their Nasi goreng and omrice.
An all day breakfast with a great menu from a Smokey croissant to corn fritters, açai bowls and even pandan pancakes. For lunch you’ll even find beer rendang and a range of other specials.
We opted for savoury dishes, specifically enjoying the tomato based Shakshuka, made with smoked eggplant, smoked capsicum, chickpeas, zucchini, tomato, zaatar and baked eggs served with toast.
The fresh and healthy bowl was a great start to the day. Their green goodness bowl, complete with lightly sautéed kale, avocado, broccoli, edamame, lentil, quinoa, mix seeds, poached egg and zaatar came served with two slices of sourdough toast.
The coffee here is really good, using one of our favourites from Royale specialty. In addition there’s smoothies, juices and teas for the non coffee drinkers out there.
Friendly and efficient staff too, making for a good cafe experience.
