On a cold Saturday night, we were hungry and looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful. We head in the car to the local strip of shops at Mascot and settle for Mascot Fresh Kitchen. It’s a no frills style place with all your Chinese favourites; Mongolian lamb, honey chicken, fried rice and spring rolls.
We share san Choy bao, braised chicken and vegetables, as well as an omelette. The food is in big servings and doused in sauce. Pretty much what you’d expect from Chinese restaurants – it’s tasty and moreish. We finish it off in no time.
The food is cheap and service is fast. It came to our table almost as fast as we ordered it.
