We had been craving some fried chicken for weeks now and we got our fix this week when we visited Chir Chir in Burwood.
Chir Chir’s famous fried chicken restaurant is originates from Korea but we’re lucky enough to have an outlet here in Australia too.
It is quality fried chicken and no wonder it is South Korea’s largest chain of restaurants, with over 100 stores. The Australian store is in Burwood and you’ll find a large casual dining space with Korean art and quirky decor. In these Covid times, the restaurant is also applying Covid safe measures with check ins and social distancing.
Not only is the fried chicken excellent, but the service is top notch too. The restaurant has table service and staff are super lovely and very friendly, doing their absolute best to provide outstanding service.
They are a licensed venue so you can get beer on tap and Shoju for $8. We tried the peach variety.
They have an extensive menu and we try a range of different dishes.
One of our favourites was the Venus cheesy chicken with the fried chicken sitting on a hot plate of a variety of liquid cheeses with bits of broccoli and tomatoes. It’s one of their specialties and we thoroughly enjoy this.
We wanted to try as much fried chicken as possible so we opted for the triple combo with Crispy, spicy and garlicky tenders with their secret fried flour spice. You can also get wings if you prefer.
As a side we also tried the Deep fried crispy cheese sticks and have fun breaking and stretching the cheese apart.
We also love the Vegetarian bibimbap with crispy rice, topped with cabbage, mushrooms, bean sprouts, zucchini and carrot. This was a great side to have with the fried chicken.
The menu is extensive and they also have plenty of salads, fries, fries rice, squid, prawns and chicken wings. Take a group so you can share a variety of things.
Everything we tried was super delicious and it is undoubtedly some of the best fried chicken you’ll find.
