We love Haven, and had visited a number of times at their Surry Hills location. We’ve not been to the outlet in Darling Harbour, but when we heard the Surry Hills store was relocating to Rosebery, we got excited, for this is in our local area.

Whilst the cafe in Surry Hills was huge, this is on a far smaller scale but we love the layout and styling. With a few benches outside so you can bring your pup, and a communal table and wall seating inside; it reminds us of a few CBD cafes. The space boasts simplicity with its white and grey colour palette, hanging magazine, wall of coffee products and a coffee machine which dominates the front counter.

The cafe is a specialty coffee shop which also has an Asian influenced breakfast and brunch menu. Whilst the old location had quite a wide menu and plenty of eggette waffle dishes, this menu is shorter but has a number of really quality choices to select from. Whether it be a Reuben or Cauliflower sandwich, house toasted muesli, bacon and egg roll, they’ve got your favourites sorted. In addition, some amazing Asian dishes, from daikon cake to a HK French toast with a peanut butter brioche cube!

It’s all about the coffee too, with the brand tailoring the coffee’s Aroma, Acidity, Sweetness, Body and Aftertaste to brew a good cup of coffee. High quality baristas are serving up a damn good cup of coffee which has seen this cafe become one of our favourites in the area. They’ve got all your favourite milk based coffees, batch brew, filter, cold drip and pour over. If you’d prefer a hot tea or iced tea, they’re on the menu too.

We thoroughly recommend paying a visit and taking time to enjoy a quality brew.
