D’Arenberg in South Australia

D’Arenberg is located just an hour from Adelaide in heart of the Mclaren Vale wine region, with the artistic cube building dominating the site.

This d’Arenberg Cube is a five level structure a wine sensory room, gallery, restaurant and tasting room. It is a huge cube structure that we hear was inspired by the complexities and puzzles of winemaking. It has stunning views of the vineyards and local area. Enter into the first level and pay entrance and check out the art on display. At the moment it is Salvador Dali inspired surrealist art.

Then, as we did, make your way to the top for a wine tasting with beautiful scenery. The tasting room is open daily, 10:30am to 4:30pm and entry costs $15 per person to see the art / taste wines.

We did a white flight and a mixed option. We had our 2 year old with us and the lovely hostess Hannah was wonderful, completely understanding the challenges of having a child on holidays, and explained each wine well whilst we tried to do so, child in tow.

You can also dine at the Singapore Circus restaurant – Asian food in a super cool circus themed artistic setting.

On site there’s also a sculpture garden and plenty to see on the property.
