This has got to be the greatest general store around. As you arrive to the main entrance, you’ll see the cafe full of diners and we can understand why. From amazing meals to dine in and baked goods and products to go, you’ll leave here completely satisfied. At the moment, the in store dining is not possible, but you can still head in to get your woodfired bakery fix. They open at 7 am daily and 11am Sundays you’ll already find a line up, so be sure to get in early.
The front counter is adorned with rustic and artisan treats. They have some of the most incredible cookies, cakes, slices, focaccia, bread, pastries and more and you’ll be in a foodie wonderland as you decide what to buy.
We opt for a gluten free cookie, not because we’re actually gluten free eaters, rather that the chocolate cookie looked incredible. It tasted mighty fine too. Topped with chocolate and some rosewater petals, the spelt cookie was amazing.
Then for a light and fluffy cinnamon donut, one of my favourite foods going around. If you’re lucky enough to secure a custard filled one, then do yourself a favour and get one of those too. Another must is the Portuguese tarts.
They had some amazing hot cross buns, sausage rolls, pies and cakes, as well as plenty of loaves of breads and savoury pastries and foccacias.
The grocery section has gelato, granolas, cheeses, butter, teas and more.
This is one of those places you’ll want to go back time and time again. But for us, its a special occasion visit since it’s a little bit on the pricy side.
