Freshwater Brewing

We made a trip to the Northern Beaches last night to check out Freshwater Brewing Company’s brand new brewery open to the public in Brookvale for beers and food from Sunday 18th September. Find the brewery on Powell street in and amongst and industrial area. It’s bright and inviting and as we enter, we meet one of the friendly owners upon entry. We feel that the crowd is very fitting with the area with their laid back surfer style fashion and chilled nature.

The expansive brewery showcases the beer vats and production space to the rear, bar and kitchen in the centre and plenty of pastel coloured furniture.

Plenty of beer taps with a good variety of their beer offerings; Dusky Dark, Dukes Pilsner, Pacific Pils, Wedge Cerveza, Freshie Pils and Sunsets Pale.

Sunsets Pale was Kurt’s pick of the evening – a light easy drinking ale, that you could certainly knock back a few quite easily.

We also enjoyed their spritz, similar to an Aperol spritz, but their version made with native Australian botanicals.

The menu looks amazing, but limited food on offer on the night, since it was just a soft opening. We tried an incredible mortadella on a flatbread that is made in house, as well as nicely spiced fries with aioli. The menu also notes BBQ prawn skewers, sausage rolls with cumin, harissa and fennel mayo and also fish finger Sangas to name a few

A lovely addition to the beaches and we feel it’s a great place for a relaxed beer or two with the friends and family.
