I had the pleasure of attending a friends birthday at Paski in Darlinghurst. Super close to Taylor Square on Oxford street, you’ll find this establishment with a wine bar, Popolare downstairs complete with a wall full of hundreds of artisanal wines to choose from.

Upstairs is the dining room, Paski Sopra, which has a bunch of small tables in a dimly lit space and a huge Last Supper mural from Turin-based artist Gianluca Cannizzo.

The brilliant Italian menu features cold cuts, cheeses, bite sized snacks and pastas. We had a set menu and some of the standouts were:
Focaccia & Le Coste extra virgin olive oil

Tapioca and Asiago fritti with honey

Mortadella & prawn toast

Pappardelle with braised retired jersey, dairy cow and Riverina

scallops, crudo, buttermilk, yuzu and finger lime

Spaghetti, cuttlefish, chicory

Burrata with fig

For dessert; tiramisu!

venue also catered well to the non seafood eaters and vegan diner, with special dishes for them.

We had wine, recommended by staff to pair nicely with our meal. The drinks and food was honestly excellent, with outstanding service provided. Staff were always around to fill up water glasses, offer wine recommendations and explained each dish in detail as it came to the table.
